An accomplished cyber security risk management leader with over thirty-five years of experience in delivering complex projects and enterprise wide business and information security initiatives that satisfy all organization requirements and consistently exceed expectations of cost effectiveness, risk & emerging threat mitigation in a time sensitive manner.Prior to joining the SEC in 2016, Dan served as the Chief Security Officer at Options Clearing Corporation (OCC), the world's largest equity derivatives clearing organization dedicated to promoting stability and financial integrity in the marketplace by focusing on sound risk management principles. Dan also served as a member of the OCC Operating Committee and IT Leadership Team with oversight responsibility of security, business continuity, and IT controls compliance. Dan also served for twenty-two years in the U.S. Army where he held a variety of positions including Cryptographic Systems Installation Team Chief, Senior Telecommunications Security Technician, and Communications Security Officer. In 1994, after serving in the Persian Gulf War, Dan was assigned to the U.S. Army Signal Center Directorate of Combat Developments where he spent his last four years on active duty leading efforts to establish doctrine, tactics, and training supporting force modernization objectives in the areas of cyber security and information warfare. Dan has been an active member of the Financial Services Information Sharing and Analysis Center (FS-ISAC) since 1999, and has served on the Board of Directors.
