Maintains primary responsibility for the management of two young children, including structuring both daily routine and long-term planning for their general well-being, while providing 24x7 on-call availability. Created and deployed a “Locals CD” fundraising project while serving three years on the board for the KidZone Children’s Museum. Maintains several OS X-based computers for home use and development, and assists with upkeep and planning of an elementary school’s iMac cluster. Proficient in Apple Final Cut Studio, Adobe Creative Suite and related applications for editing, mastering and delivery of audio, print, and video content on paper, disc, and web. Developed in- house applications in Objective-C under OSX, with development work underway for iPhone OS.

Progressed the evolution of an enterprise-class support organization, from the technical branch of a marketing division to a cohesive worldwide team of 30 engineers responsible for in-depth troubleshooting of the HP-UX core operating system, known collectively with groups in other disciplines as the Worldwide Technology Expert Center. Worked with internal HP entities to deliver code-level fixes and troubleshooting for both current customers and ongoing engineering efforts. Automated the publication and delivery of the team newsletter and generated weekly in-depth technical content, while serving 10 years as editor of PA-News. Re-architected portions of the bundled backup/recovery utility (fbackup/frecover) to correct potential data-loss problems discovered after shipping the product. Taught and updated coursework on HP-UX internals for virtual memory and process/thread management. Created a system-dump analysis library (corelib) which was used as the foundation for automated dump and live-system analysis tools developed by the broader HP-UX support community.Sought across organizations for abilities in general troubleshooting and static PA-RISC system-dump analysis. Developed a particular affinity for problems involving parallelization with multi-threaded and multi-CPU environments, working towards functionality and performance changes for applications and core OS features in the POSIX pthread library and its underlying mechanisms, such as atomicity and spinlocking.
