Data content is collected using the IBM WebFountain product which mines the World Wide Web and Factiva content. This allows for discovery of changes in how entities are associated to issues across various sources over time. Designed the complete application framework using Magic Draw UML V7.1. Development was performed using IBM WebSphere Studio Application Developer V5.1 and DB2 UDB V7. Coding was done in Java 1.4. The Core J2EE Design patterns were observed.

Architect and lead developer for the Commodity Tracking System project. CTS is an enterprise Web application used by the Finance and Procurement departments. CTS is a business critical corporate resource application which provides Risk Managers, Financial Analysts, and senior management with the tools necessary to manage risk and report profit/loss resulting from futures and options trading. CTS integrates with various backend legacy systems including Materials Planning, Supplier Contracts, and Plant Inventory. CTS supports an interface with Fimat for central clearing and execution of trades made on the Chicago Board of Trade, Chicago Mercantile Exchange, and New York Board of Trade. Developed on IBM WebSphere WSAD 4.x with Oracle 8.x. Coding was done in Java 1.2.

Prudential Work Station Project - Designed and developed a dynamic XML parsing engine to handle message traffic between distributed systems. All coding was done in Java 1.2. XML Data Binding was facilitated via Castor to transform XSD files and generate data classes in Java. Business logic behavior was developed within corresponding helper classes allowing for complete regeneration of data classes on demand. Developed a convenience tool to traverse DTD or XSD files to produce Java static constants for element tags. Developed a validation tool in Java to traverse Business Objects created via XML unmarshalling to assure proper data mapping. Designed and developed servlet applications in Java under IBM WebSphere. A combination of CORBA and EJB components were used to access backend systems in a 3-tiered architecture.

Lead developer for the Prudential Express Brokerage website. PXB is a portal application providing broker access to various Prudential sites and document downloads. Designed and developed the middle tier Java Servlet framework and all accompanying Servlet applications under IBM WebSphere. Designed and developed the Java 1.2 code, Sybase table definitions, and stored procedures to support the Event and Measurement capability for recording website activity. Backend 3-tier components accessed over an OrbixWeb CORBA backbone to query various DB2 tables housing enterprise data stores. JDBC and stored procedures were used to provide table access. Designed and developed a Profiling facility which allows an administrative website to define user-specific profiles for access and viewing the PXB website capabilities. Designed and developed a web based support utility to assist in managing the WebSphere environment. IBM VisualAge provided the IDE.
Lead Developer
Lead developer for the Switching Engine component of the Intelligent Gateway Call Server. IGCS represents the next step in the evolution of telecommunication switching providing voice services over an IP backbone network (VOIP). This distributed application uses Borland Visibroker as the CORBA object distribution backbone. All coding was done in Java 1.1.x. The development and testing environments were on Windows 98 and Unix Sun workstations. Designed and developed the StateMachine component of IGCS which provides the electronic switching capability. Provided technical support for team members including field trial and trade show personnel. Provided training as required for other team members.

Telecom Italia - Designed and developed the Functional Time Reporting Information Manager. This system component allowed external interfaces and GUI contracts to access and manipulate Time Reporting data in various forms. It provided SQL calls to Oracle tables and the ability to transform data attributes to and from XML/FCIF/TVO. The FTR manager consisted of various C++ data classes and a manager class. It was defined as a shared library and used by all core system components. This application ran on HP UNIX.

The library handled server initialization, message receipt and delivery, unit-of-work commit/rollback, retry, shut-down and recovery.
