Profile bio

About Debbie Andres

My broad educational background has allowed me to develop various approaches towards teaching physics. My original career path was Mechanical Engineering but at Rutgers I realized that I could make a bigger impact in the STEM field by educating the future engineers. As a graduate student, I focused on implementing my engineering skills into a high school physics classroom. As a research assistant I have developed and implemented physics labs appropriate for undergraduate engineering students. These labs focus on helping students develop scientific practices and integrating those skills into their future engineering work. As a high school teacher, I have incorporated these advanced science learning processes into the physics program. My long term goal is to continue working in the K-12 field by improving STEM education and creating a community that fosters learning and collaboration between students.

Listed skills include Solidworks, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, and 11 others.
