I joined the company in 2022 full time as the third technical hire after helping prototype an early product in 2019 that pioneered the NFT backed phygital NFC technology with partners such as Elleme, Senreve, and Li Organics.We went through many iterations to find product market fit for customer segments including retail, enterprise, blockchain enthusiasts, and special events activations. I also helped scale different aspects of our technology and team processes to be able to support millions of units.Our company's technology spans many different areas. We have our own software called LGT Tag Manager to program and manage special encrypted NFC chips in large quantities for clients. We source hardware chips with different specifications and quantities and integrate with our clients' supply chain and manufacturing. We operate a customer facing platform called Tap by Legitimate that allows creators to customize content displayed to users. We also have an API for agencies and developers to build their own experience on top of our Tap platform. I started at the GOAT working on a technical revamp of the FlightClub, a brick and mortar sneaker consignment store and streetwear brand. Our team created promotional content and activations for Black Friday while building an entirely new checkout flow with new payment processors and providers. We saw a 30-70% improvement in checkout conversion rates as a result of the improvement in user experience and performance upgrades.In 2021, the GOAT.com frontend underwent an entire rebuild and various frontend engineers worked on creating improved versions of existing functionalities with better user experience and newer designs. I was tasked with rebuilding the new checkout flow with my teammate and we took our learnings from the building of the checkout process on FlightClub.com and applied it to GOAT.com. We were able to easily add additional payment providers as a result of new architecture and doubled the number of payment methods and providers while enabling international region based customizations. We saw a 20-30% improvement in conversion in the US market, and up to 50-100% improvement in conversion in select international markets.

I lead the web platform team working on the member facing web app and responsible for improving performance, reliability, and maintainability. As a platform team, we tackle the shared problems that fall through the boundaries of ownership between different product teams. The lead role entails coordinating and prioritizing technical needs with other product facing teams while communicating requirements and timelines with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders.I advocated for better code quality by evangelizing and adopting frontend best practices and open source libraries. I worked with designers to consolidate the existing design system around tokens, themes, and shared components. I introduced a new frontend internationalization workflow and tooling to reduce translation steps from 10 manual steps down to 3 scripted steps. I authored a proposal for adopting the progressive web app architecture and implemented changes that decreased loading times by 50-75%. I also mentored other engineers in the wider organization through architecture discussions, code pairing, and pull request reviews.

I worked on a few different teams during my 3 years at Squarespace as the company scaled from 90 engineers to almost 400. I started on a frontend CMS team which was later split into several product and systems teams. I spent some time working across different teams with high priority features including internationalization, design systems, and web architecture. I was later moved back into a CMS team to work on a systemwide update launched as Squarespace 7.1.My work on Squarespace 7.1 includes the live preview frame and typography picker designed to allow users to build sites faster and easier which improved customer trial to paid conversion rates. My prior projects included efforts to standardize components across the company while creating and maintaining React and React-Native component libraries. I regularly advocated for and participated in efforts to refactor legacy code written using YUI library to ES6 and React in order to improve performance and reduce code complexity. I was part of a large internationalization effort to provide language translations, localized formatting, and tailored user interfaces across the frontend. I was also an intern manager responsible for mentoring and evaluating an intern for the duration of the summer in 2019.I am passionate about diversity, equity, and inclusion as well. I was part of a team of 4 and started an employee resource group as co-chairs for the Asian community at Squarespace in order to bring members together, hold discussions around important topics, uplift each other's careers, and participate in company wide initiatives.

I built prototypes for apps that could benefit from the Watson ecosystems from wireframe mockups and specifications to fully functional demo apps. I initiated efforts in the team to transition backend to Node.js with and frontend to React and Redux for our the Watson apps. During my first few months, I was a part of the IBM's BlueSpark leadership development program and participated in presentation and project management training. I also co-authored patent disclosures in natural language processing and machine learning for Watson products. I mainly worked on Watson+TED (watson.ted.com).

I created mobile backend on Python Flask and PostgreSQL for user functionalities such as Facebook login, email invites, and user following to drive user engagement. I also built a scraper for Foursquare, Wikipedia, and Instagram location information for about 10,000 popular locations as well as 100,000 location photos around the world. During my time at Yeti, I also refactored our backend code and migrated our entire backend from Rackspace dedicated servers to Amazon AWS and Heroku to reduce server cost and devops time.

I created internal tools for LinkedIn SlideShare to improve social media management and content categorization using HTML, Javascript, MySQL, and Ruby on Rails. I also improved the performance of the slide player and investigated bugs reported by the customer engagement team.

I developed an internal Windows 8 application to replace an internal web tool for tablet and desktop use. The project specifications were determined by meeting with users and gathering information about their individual needs. I then submitted a formal requirements document for review and wrote code for the application under the mentorship of a senior developer.

I wrote an internal web application in ASP.NET and Visual Basic to help keep track of server locations and specifications. I also helped maintained a server information database for data center operations and assisted with network monitoring and optimization.

I managed and coordinated the logistics of computers and network infrastructure for a summer camp hosted at UCLA. The job involved deployment of pre-created image to laptops, setting up and maintaining networks, coordinating with hardware and software vendors, and assisting staff with technical training and access to curriculum resources.

I helped configure and maintain a wide range of networked lab computers, servers, and embedded devices including IP security cameras and recording system.
