Some of my major contributions so far have included a rewrite of a kernel file system driver, several key integrations (Slack, Gmail and Sharepoint) for the SaaS Archive/Backup solution, Azure VM backup integration and a plethora of other enhancements. My responsibilities include: - Writing well-documented, high performance, secure, reliable, testable, and maintainable code for core systems, services and supporting components (user interfaces).- Creating end-to-end solution and architecture design proposals for key functionality areas, and driving the solution through to its implementation.- Diagnosing issues in production environments, finding the root cause, and resolving with quality and robust code changes.- Coaching other developers with regards to general code quality, security, testability, maintainability, and solution architecture.- Providing documentation for, and mentoring other developers in key knowledge areas. I collaborated remotely with teams across Canada and Italy, regularly mentoring and training new designers (including hosting a two-week workshop in China). I often participated as a key customer escalation field engineer, including meeting on-site and resolving issues at France’s parliament (Assemblée Nationale) and several other bank customers. I extended and maintained client software (and tools) for a automatic speech recognition based language learning suite. My contributions included an integration of a new speech recognition package, developing tools for audio/video transcript alignment, release/build management process and QA management. Development used C# (.NET), VB6, C++ and some PHP.I also researched and developed prototype software in Adobe Flash/Flex and MS Silverlight.

I developed and maintained core technologies for an embedded digital video recorder and related client software. My contributions included developing prototypes for high-risk or experimental features, video streaming technologies, cross platform development (Windows/Linux, x86/ARM) and new hardware (internal and external) integrations. I served as team/project prime on several key projects.

I developed and maintained software systems used for telco carrier network billing and performance monitoring. Key development tasks included developing multithreaded client/server systems, analyzing multiprocessor specific problems, software performance enhancement and tuning for multiple processors.

I was a core developer of 3D action game engine technology. Key contributions included a game engine virtual machine processor (script language), 3D rendering framework, 3D physics and collision detection, compressed resource management system, client/server CAD technology, and a distributed lighting computation system.

I developed and maintained software used for network accounting and performance management.

I co-authored (programming, design and production management) a PC 3D action game. Programming involved C and Intel x86 assembly. Some of my major contributions to the game engine were the 3D renderer, gaming event system, multiplayer network support and a proprietary script compiler and VM.
