Devops Engineer
CurrentAs a DevOps engineer at ANS, I am responsible for critical business infrastructure across its entire lifecycle. The majority of our deployments are managed with Infrastructure as Code practices using Terraform and Ansible, utilising both public and in-house SDKs and tooling, developed in part by our team.Kubernetes is used extensively on-premise, with Gitlab CI/CD and GitOps practices driving deployments and empowering our development team to iterate faster, promoting code through Dev, UAT and Production environments. On the development side, I’ve written several multi-thousand lines-of-code internal tools in both Go and Python which have been in production for several years, along with extensive documentation for the consumption of other teams.I have submitted several patches and features to various open source projects over the years as part of my role at ANS, including a new ClusterLabs Pacemaker fence agent for our eCloud product, a new DNS provider for the Lego ACME client to use our in-house SafeDNS service, and minor contributions to AWX.Here's your list of buzzwords:* Linux system administrator with over a decade of experience, centred around web application hosting, for example Apache, Nginx, HAProxy, MySQL, etc.* Configuration Management - Ansible/AWX, Terraform, Packer* Container technologies - Kubernetes, Rancher, Docker, Podman* Software Development - Go, Python, Shell scripts, RESTful APIs, Gitlab, Github, Jira, Confluence, Agile* Continuous Integration - Gitlab CI/CD, Github Actions, Jenkins* Analytics and Monitoring - InfluxDB, Grafana, ELK, Zabbix, LogicMonitor* Message Queues / KV Stores - NATS, RabbitMQ, MQTT, Redis* Cloud Technologies - OpenStack, VMware* Distributed storage and clustering (though it's been many years) - Ceph, DRBD, GFS2, Pacemaker clusters* Googling - I’m really good at this
