As a DevOps engineer at ANS, I am responsible for critical business infrastructure across its entire lifecycle. UKFast merged with ANS in early 2022.I started work with UKFast as a Junior Linux Engineer, quickly being promoted to Linux Engineer, then Enterprise Linux Engineer and Senior Linux Enterprise Engineer before making a move into the DevOps team.

Semi-casual role involving provision of first-line IT support to students working in the MMU All Saints library.

Responsible for IT support at the high school and 4 local primary schools, providing support for over 250 staff and 1300 pupils over the 5 sites in a 3-man team. Barring a single Linux box I managed to sneak into the infrastructure, this was a Windows support role that covered everything from server administration to cleaning gunk from mouse balls (tight budgets did not favour the introduction of optical mice for several years).
