Mr. Jansen has been with dys architecture for over 25 years. His wide range of experience encompasses all community planning, building and construction types. While his primary emphasis has been on housing, health care, community facilities and planning, he has commercial, retail and hospitality experience as well. His approach to design has been defined by his experiences in providing public consultation and project facilitation services. This has led to the firm’s philosophy of “consensus based design”. In this approach, it is the client and their stakeholder group that define the project. While the architect brings their talent, insight and experience to a project, it is the client group and their vision that makes each project unique.His participation on LEED Gold and Platinum projects has added to the “consensus based design”process with a sensitivity toward durable, flexible buildings with effective operational and lifecycle costs. Currently Mr. Jansen is managing the architectural services on Vancouver's second tallest tower, Holborn's Trump Tower along with dys architecture's partners on the project, Musson Cattell Mackey Partnership. He is the lead architect on a four site affordable housing initiative in Vancouver and is involved in a number of Health Care Master Plans and non-market housing renewal opportunities.
