About Dane Jennings
Within 2 months of graduating from college, I founded a software company, recruited a team of developers, and we built a working prototype of a virtual reality climbing game. Within 2 years we released Don’t Look Down, the original VR climbing platforming game.In the last several years since then, I’ve explored other use cases for VR and software solutions to address societal concerns and client needs. Notable projects include:- VRPD: a virtual reality de-escalation training tool built with expert and community input- Your Dream Your Team: a mobile app that connects disabled and disadvantaged people with programs that they qualify for- a VR physical therapy app that was clinically shown to reduce pain For all these projects I have worn a lot of hats. However my primary role has always been as the project manager/producer and as the head of partnerships and sales.I’m passionate about creating economic opportunity for young people. To that end I’ve taught several classes about entrepreneurship and game development to local youth.My work has been featured on ABC, CBS, NBC, Spectrum News, NPR and in Albany Business Review, the Times Union, and the Daily Gazette. I’ve also given numerous presentations including at the NYS Criminal Justice Symposium, 1Upstate, the Business of Digital Games, and NYVR.Feel free reach out to me especially if you have any software needs or if you’re interested in learning more about VRPD.
