Instrumentation and Control Supervisor GCWA. Previous experience was acquired by working in Bay County, Fl at a 60 MGD surface water treatment plant and 8 MGD wastewater treatment plant for over 7 years as an Instrumentation and control technician. The 1st 2 years were as Tech. The 2nd 2years were as SCADA/PLC programming tech. My 4th year I acquired and held the Tech 2 position until acquiring the position of Tech 3 at GCWA. Bay County has half a dozen booster pump stations, 2 surface water pumping stations, 3 wastewater plants and 75 or so lift stations. Voltages ranged from 5 volts dc all the way to 4160 VAC. Motors ranging from .5hp to 600hp. I am responsible for all pressure transducers, Cl2 meters, pH meters, Turbidity meters, flowmeters, telemetry, valve actuators, VFDs, Softstarts, PLCs, SCADA system, HMI, diesel generators and pumps, float and level transducers, and everything involved in operating and maintaining water treatment plants. I am responsible for reading plans for new projects and working with contractors and systems integrators to assure all projects are completed on time and to our specifications. I am familiar with all types of test equipment from volt/ohm meters power analyzers and strap on flow meters. I am an excellent trouble shooter and problem solver. I have modified PLC programs to do anything from read pressure and operate valve actuators to running 500hp pumps while maintaining a pressure setpoint. I have modified the HMIs and the Wonderware SCADA system to reflect these types of changes. I am familiar with PLC5, SLC, MicroLogix, CompactLogix and am now working with Schneider Electric Modicon, Momentum, Quantum, Control Expert, Unity Pro and Concept. I have installed and setup VFD and soft starters in booster pump stations, liftstations, and High service pump stations. I enjoy fixing things and finding ways to improve the system as a whole.
