As someone with over nine years of IT management experience and over seven years in IT customer engagement/relations in a public organization, I have established vision, policy, strategic and tactical direction and delivered results in department and statewide programs, projects and daily operations.For twenty years I have worked to identify and resolve IT-related customer service issues through the management of collaborative groups, effective communication, organization-wide strategic planning and change.I have lead multi-disciplinary teams at all levels. I have significant experience in the facilitation and motivation of groups to accomplish a task and/or achieve a desired outcome.I am a strategist, innovator, public-speaker, business consultant, problem-solver and effective manager.Some significant achievements include:• Development of a vendor-managed system operations and maintenance oversight team and the initiated the strategic discussions leading to the decision to hire a manager for vendor-managed systems and future development of a VMO.• Under my management, the State of Oregon has the only state technology team to successfully take over the large, child welfare (OR-Kids) application from the vendor. • I created and managed statewide web efforts that resulted in California’s first place ranking in the Center for Digital Government’s Best of the Web competition in 2010 (second and third in the two prior years) and garnered many other IT-related awards including those for transparency and cross-organizational collaborative projects.• I developed the statewide web strategic plan and managed a 500+ member collaboration of statewide webmasters, development activities and enforcement of web standards and ongoing communication strategies including the development of statewide transparency and data websites, the use of open-source mapping solutions and the development of an innovative mobile development program.
