I discovered that I needed to work on myself before I could effectively support others, and so began my intentional personal journey that I am still on today. At the same time, I dove headfirst into research and best practices...culminating in a couple academic papers and my Initial Participation Model, which was published in the blind, peer reviewed IJARE journal in 2018.During this time, I developed twenty inclusive initiatives for Metro Parks Tacoma, seeing eleven fully launch by 2019, supporting over 650 youth who consistently reflected Tacoma’s population in race, income, and geography. My work was recognized and featured at the National Summer Learning Association’s 2019 Convention.
