I stopped what I was doing and backed up the podcast I was listening to. Sure enough, “The deepest purpose of a business is to change the lives of the people who work there.” That’s exactly what he said. Huh. I was a bit dumbfounded… I was listening to a successful businessman and entrepreneur say the words I’ve always wanted to hear from a successful businessman and entrepreneur. So I’m not crazy. I’m not too soft to be successful in business. I don’t need to work for a non-profit to be open about putting people first – really putting them first – in daily working life. The man who made this bold statement is Jonathan Raymond, founder and CEO of Refound and author of Good Authority. He went on to make several other statements that resonated so deeply with me, I decided to contact him. And so began my tour with Refound. Since that time I've had the opportunity to enhance our in-room workshop experience, build out a micro-mentoring program for ongoing leadership development, establish one-on-one coaching relationships with various clients, conduct discovery methods in order to design and test product offerings based on learner feedback, and lead business development in the Midwest market. I've done this alongside my incredible Refound team members who bring me enlightenment and smiles with every interaction. It is an incredible experience doing work I fully believe in... and fully believe can make a real impact in people's lives - not just in their work, but in every aspect of their lives.
