As a COTA/L, I assist the OTR in the gathering of data for purposes of assessment, from prospective patients. My responsibilities include the education of patients, family, and other staff members on the use of adaptive equipment and varied techniques to perform activities of daily living, to consult with a physical therapist on the most safe and appropriate method of mobility based upon an individuals current level of function, and assist the speech pathologist in implementing effective communication techniques with patients. As a COTA/L, It is my responsibility to interact with other members of the interdisciplinary team and provide necessary information to ensure the continued maintenance of learned skills.As a Rehab Coordinator it is my responsibility to monitor overall operations with staffing and RUGs management including completion of PPS supplemental report and new patient information for accurate billing purposes, validating labor and monitoring productivity levels, maintaining patient treatment schedules, performing LTC programming rounds with DNS, ensuring clinical documentation provides skilled necessity and is in compliance with CMS and company policy/procedures and maintaining HR files.COTA/L in Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut
