I provide legal advice to the Board and various parts of the organization including Investments, Compliance, Procurement, Client Services, Human Resources, Enterprise Risk, and Pension Policy teams. I am responsible for OPB's governance and ethics. I am also the Executive leader of the Corporate Affairs team, leading a group of professionals consisting of the Corporate Secretarial team and the Privacy and Data Governance team. Recent highlights include:• Amended the General Bylaw and Statements of Mandate and Authority ensuring the Board adheres to appropriate governance principles• As the Executive responsible for Governance Committee, I created a Board education program, led the annual Board assessment and created the action plan, created and updated Board policies and worked closely with the Chair of the Board and Treasury Board Secretariat of the Ontario government on board-related items.• Improved many Board-related processes, creating efficiency and consistency between Board committees• Restructured the Privacy & Records Management team, making it a higher-functioning team that is more integrated with the rest of the organization. Ontario Pension Board

• Developed OPB’s advocacy strategy to help execute OPB’s strategic vision• Provide strategic advice and produce materials for Pensions, Audit and Governance Committees of the Board of Directors• Contributed to and successfully implemented OPB’s growth strategy, which included the negotiation of merger agreements as well as advocacy efforts with the Ministry of Finance and the Financial Regulatory Authority (formerly the Financial Services Commission of Ontario)• Advocacy efforts to the Ontario government for legislative amendments• Created new organizational structure to support the team’s next level of development• Selected to be a member on three of FSRA's Technical Advisory Committees: Asset Transfers, Public Plans and Employment-Based Vibrant Pension Pillar in Ontario

• Served on several steering committees including the Incident Response team for crisis management issues• Successfully advocated to the government for changes to the Police Services Act in relation to an exemption from s.80 of the Pension Benefits Act to allow divested police officers to consolidate their pensions • Negotiated three transfer agreements with four major Ontario pension plans that would allow thousands of members to consolidate “stranded” pension benefits and increase their pensions• Presented to the Expert Committee to Consider Financial Advisory and Financial Planning Policy Alternatives to advocate for regulation of the financial planning industry—the final report of the Committee supported many of the recommendations.• Orchestrated the production of annual statements for 40,000 pensioners on time and on budget—served as key decision maker, ensuring legislative compliance, and oversaw statement design and client messaging.

• Oversaw the development and implementation of pension policies and procedures and advised on complex policy issues• Led and reassembled team of 7 to move focus toward advocacy—provided clear direction during period of high-change• Acted as dedicated liaison for Ontario Government on the PSPP text, and external counsel on pension-related matters• Worked with the government on policy issues surrounding changes to insured benefits for all public sector employees

• Strategically evaluated, analyzed, and researched legislative changes to inform and develop policy, ensuring compliance• Earned promotion to Team Lead in January 2010 due to success in leading projects and delivering within tight timelines • Conceived and implemented a “linking-de-linking” policy to provide former spouses a more equitable entitlement to a member’s pension than provided in the legislation. • Created and implemented a client complaint resolution process requiring Board approval
