Acquired seafloor and shallow subsurface data (sidescan/bathymetry/subbottom) within coastal waters using Benthos C3D, Chirp, and bubble pulse systems. Integrated core from deep borings, downhole logging, and subbottom profiles to interpret the stratigraphy and depositional environments of upper (-70m) inner shelf sediments offshore Rhode Island. Utilized GEOTEK multisensory (MST) core logger to measure geophysical / geotechnical parameters of sediments in core samples and Mastersizer light diffraction instrumentation for grain size and sorting data. Utilized XRD, pollen and microfossil assemblages to aid in stratigraphic and environmental interpretations.

Field Sampling - Collection of core and grab samples in Florida and US Virgin Islands for composition and textural analyses including Pb210 and Cs137 content for age models. Laboratory Analyses - Textural and compositional determination utilizing wet and dry sieving and settling tube for grain size; loss on ignition for organic and inorganic carbon, Pb210 and Cs137 determination to aid in dating. Lead stratigraphic laboratory from May 2008 to June 2009. Responsibilities included scheduling, collection and QC of field samples and laboratory data analysis, creation of figures and synthesis reports for Project Manager.
