“The tears shed over a drunk driving accident are never worth the moments of recklessness.” – UnknownIt is not considered a violent crime to drink and drive, until that split second blood is spilled. Allyson Renee Goad, my 22 year old only daughter, became the victim of this senseless crime in September 11th, 2021. My life trajectory completely changed that night. My grief compelled me down a path I never imagined. I am an enthusiastic non-profit leader who fights every day to keep another family from standing next to a cross on the side of the road. Through creative paths we open the lines of communication within families and communities to discuss and educate about the dangers of Drinking and Driving. I am a passionate speaker at Victim Impact Panels, High Schools, and Colleges who is constantly seeking new opportunities to share my daughter's life and death to inspire change in the way society views Drinking and Driving. I often speak at Police Academies, DRE Certification Classes, SFST Trainings and Refreshers, and Officer In-Service days to instill a passion in our first line of defense to stop DUIs before they become Fatal DUIs. It's too late for me to fight for my daughter, but it's not too late for me to fight for yours.
