Danette is passionate about her work as an "Encourager." She sees creativity and nature as the two most fundamental relationships we humans must foster in order to be in balance and joyful. An energetic master facilitator, gifted systems thinker, and dedicated steward of social & environmental justice, Danette works within a robust network for building community, civic organizing, and providing options for her work in serving organizations, and individuals on the journey to wholeness.Founder of The Remember Project and Co-Founder of The Center for Creativity & Public Health, Danette works with passion & conviction at the intersection of the arts & well-being. An early career foundational experience included using the arts within the juvenile justice, public education, and social service systems withiin her role as Director of Arts Education for a regional arts agency. She led a staff of four lead teaching artists and over 80 contracted teaching artists to design and deliver school and community based programs that addressed specific outcomes (school readiness, increasing community engagement, using the arts as an economic driver in rural areas, helping moms reunite with their children following incarceration, supporting academic success, reducing social isolation in care facilities, etc).
