inPractice.org began as a consultancy role designing and developing a series of web based practice placement apps to connect hospitals and healthcare courses in Welsh Universities that helped administrate student training and placements. It was then rolled out to organisations across UK, Ireland and Australia and I was retained as a consultant to provide.

Joined STEM as an ambassador to help schools with anything computing - particularly around helping children understand algorithms and learning to write programs. Developed a "craft computer kit" (linked below) that's now used across schools in the UK and globally for teaching computing to children aged 5+

Subhub are the leading provider of subscription websites. Came on board to help with technical strategy and oversee management of the development team. During my time we successfully refocused product development and reduced our operating costs including a large saving on our infrastructure.

Ping was a dot.com startup founded by Apple, Xerox and Google Alumni. We were based out of San Francisco. We were VC funded, built 2 products, had loads of fun & a great team. Techwise, we built some interesting IM based lightweight widgets for Win32 using C/Jabber and an advanced email server CRM framework in Java. We completed development of the server.

Part of the team that built the award winning Reuters Business Briefing (RBB) for web; a real time interface to the past 50 years of print news and market data. Worked along side Soho design outfit Tui and had a great time delivering a great product. Great team and great product! We used C/C++ and Java on a Netscape server farm. During our final project.

Developed "advanced server abstractions on Apache" for companies like Siemens with a fantastic team of Cambridge grads and post-grads. I cut my teeth writing C code on Dec Alphas, glued to K&R, and worked with great, smart people who made sure that when I left my code was much better, my design was more pragmatic and my knowledge of wine was a little deeper!
