As president of Sun Life U.S. I lead one of the largest specialty benefits businesses in the U.S. We are the second largest dental benefits business in the U.S., the largest independent medical stop loss provider and a top 10 group benefits business. We also manage Sun Life’s legacy individual life insurance blocks. Subsidiaries include FullscopeRMS, which partners with other insurance companies, and Advantage Dental+, which manages more than 85 dental practices. We acquired DentaQuest in 2022, Pinnacle Care in 2021, Maxwell Health in 2018 and Assurant Employee Benefits in 2016. Sun Life U.S. has more than $8 billion in annual revenues and more than 6.500 employees.I began my career at MassMutual and later joined New York Life and its NYLCare Health Plans subsidiary. Prior to my time at Sun Life, I spent 16 years at Aetna, most recently serving as President, Specialty Businesses.I hold a bachelor’s degree from Boston University and a Doctor of Medicine degree from BU’s School of Medicine. I’m also a member of the Massachusetts Medical Society and the Maine Medical Association. I’m an active board member and past Chair of Spurwink Services in Portland, Maine, serve as a board advisor for Collective Health, an insurtech start-up based in San Francisco, and am a past member of the Boston University School of Medicine’s Dean’s Advisory Board.I am also an avid meteorology enthusiast and a passionate advocate in the fight for paid family and medical leave (PFML) for all Americans.
