As Elections Manager for Washington County Elections Division, I am responsible for all aspects of elections in Washington County, Oregon. I supervise a team of eight elections professionals, and oversee voter registration for nearly 400,000 voters.

As Project Manager for Multnomah County Elections Division, I was responsible for managing diverse projects including two or more elections per year. I oversaw the election timeline, ensured that the team met deliverables dates, resources were correctly allocated, and budget constraints were observed.In addition, I served as Safety Committee chair for our team, and served on Emergency Management and Continuity of Operations Committees for the Department of Community Services. I also worked on various ad-hoc committees for the County and statewide organizations as required.

As Program Specialist Senior/Election Systems Specialist, I was responsible for functions relating to the management of the voter registration database, including election creation, ballot processing, reporting, signature verification, list cleanup and managing our confidential voter rolls. In addition, I also trained, scheduled and supervised staff that performed data entry and customer service tasks.

As Program Specialist Senior/Mail Ballot Specialist for the Multnomah County Elections Division, I was responsible for overseeing the preparation of election ballot packages mailed out to over 500,000 registered voters in Multnomah County. I worked closely with mailing vendors and the USPS to ensure that voters received the correct ballots within statutorily defined timelines.During election periods, I managed the process of deconstruction of returned ballots, supervising a team of over 150 on-call elections workers who prepare ballots for the vote tally machines. Between elections, I worked on long-term process improvement projects, RFPs and contracts, equipment upgrades, and on-call staff recruitment.

As Circulation Director for Resource Recycling, Inc., I was responsible for managing controlled and paid circulation for Resource Recycling magazine, a trade publication serving the recycling industry. During my tenure, I initiated and executed a fulfillment database system conversion, and increased the qualified subscriber base by over 50%. I improved the quality of the circulation file by establishing stringent coding criteria and using more effective cover wrap and online requalification tools. In addition, I brought the magazine into full compliance with USPS regulations.I also managed the company's accounting department, and was solely responsible for all accounts payable and accounts receivable - writing checks, paying bills, sending out advertising invoices, and tracking down delinquent accounts. I prepared fiscal year-end statements and worked with our tax preparer to file corporate taxes.

MEDIAmerica, Inc. is a regional and custom publishing company based in Portland, OR that produces magazines and tourism publications including Oregon Business magazine, Oregon Home magazine and Travel Oregon magazine. During my time there, I was responsible for building paid and controlled circulation, managing fulfillment vendors, newsstand sales and promotions, coordinating readership surveys, and promoting company events and products (such as the "100 Best Companies to Work for in Oregon") through news releases and media contacts. I also managed BPA audit filings, ensured compliance with USPS regulations, and coordinated fulfillment schedules with our press schedule.I negotiated directly with supermarket chains for rack space and managed newsstand consultants and rack checkers to achieve optimal placement at Fred Meyers, Zupans, New Seasons and other local newsstands and supermarkets.

The American Red Cross Pacific Northwest Regional Blood Services provides blood products to hospitals throughout Oregon, Washington and southeast Alaska. As Public Affairs Specialist, I was principally responsible for internal communications, and one of my main tasks was composing articles for and laying out a biweekly newsletter for our 500+ employees in the region. I also designed and oversaw printing on employee handbooks, assisted with event planning, and worked on outreach to community partners.In addition to my internal communications work, I also assisted with media relations efforts, sending out press releases and fielding questions from reporters, and from time to time led tours of our facility and spoke at community events about the mission of the American Red Cross.

As Circulation Coordinator, I was responsible for managing subscriber databases, qualification efforts, event promotions, ad trafficking, and newsstand sales for two regional publications with a combined circulation of over 40,000.
