Following my experience with candidate Dan Greef in South Cambs in 2015, where we achieved 7.4% increase in the Labour vote, gaining Labour's best ever result in this constituency - we reformed for the 'snap' election in 2017, achieving a further 9.6% increase in the vote.

I provided peripatetic support for students aged eleven to eighteen in a high achieving Catholic Diocesan Grammar School in Belfast. I started with one morning per week and five students in 2008. This was built up to two full days, including establishing and directing the school jazz ensemble and big band, which contained twenty five students.

In 2008 I was invited to become the ‘Artiste in Residence’ of May Street Church and Urban Soul, a city centre mission based in the church. I was responsible for establishing and co- ordinating music policy within the mission of a city centre church and outreach café. I was required to perform for the weekly church services and recitals held in the church, outside the church and in the café! I was heavily involved in programming music concerts and art displays, most notably for the Irish Chamber Orchestra in May 2008.

As course leader for the A Level music technology course I was required to work to strict deadlines and ensure that students did the same. I designed, setup and built the music IT network and the school’s recording studio (using both digital and analogue recording equipment). I became proficient in the use of Logic Pro, Cubase SX, Sibelius, Pro tools and MS office. As the school’s jazz director I was responsible for arranging and directing the schools jazz ensemble and smaller ensembles with the school’s sixth form. My duties also included peripatetic lessons on saxophone, clarinet and flute to students aged eight to eighteen.

I was responsible for setting up and teaching the Edexcel A-Level Music Technology course at this high achieving 11-18 school. My other duties also included teaching students in Key Stage 3 how to utilise Music Technology in their studies.

Created and implemented a communications strategy for Big Party. As a member of the board, I ensured that all stakeholders in the business, (acts, venues, agents etc) received the correct information. I was also co-opted the role of IT manager for the business working alongside other agencies in the implementation of the IT network.
