About Dan Franks
I'm a CPA by trade, and spent the first 8 years of my career in public accounting. I started in Big Four with KPMG, but quickly realized my true passion was working with small business owners and entrepreneurs, and helping them get their financial systems in order (and thriving).This passion for working in financial systems crossed paths with my love for podcasting, which lead me out of the public sector and into the private one, as I became the Business Manager for the podcasting company Midroll / Stitcher. I worked alongside the CFO, helping with all aspects of the business side of the company.As all of this was going on, I also helped co-found and launch Podcast Movement (the world's largest conference and trade show for the podcast industry) in 2014. Since that time, PM has grown considerably, and in 2018 running Podcast Movement became my full-time focus.Podcast Movement has grown from a once-a-year event, into a full media and education company. As President of Podcast Movement, I've overseen the growth and evolution of the business. - The original Podcast Movement event now welcomes nearly 4,000 podcasters and industry professionals from around the world to our event every summer. - In 2020 we debuted the Evolutions event, which saw over 1,000 attendees join us in Los Angeles that year, and now welcomes nearly 2,000 attendees each spring. - The PodMov Daily newsletter, along with the Podcast Movement Weekly community newsletter, go to tens of thousands of podcasters each week, bringing them the latest industry news, resources, and updates that they need to be successful. - PodcastMovement.com has become a go-to-resource for news and education of all types, as it relates to podcasting and the podcast industry.When I'm not working, I like to spend time and travel with my wife and two daughters, and am a die-hard fan of all things University of North Texas sports.
