I am in the practice of psychotherapy and psychoanalysis in San Diego, CA. I also do consultation and communication coaching with healthcare professionals about clinical issues and building their practice. I work with Traumatic Brain Injury survivors, their families, case managers, life care planners, and healthcare treatment teams. I am the medical director of a brain injury supported living program (Hidden Valley Ranch Rehabilitation Services), a psychiatric consultant to a post-acute TBI rehabilitation program (Learning Services Escondido), and a consultant to a complex medical case management company (Paradigm). I am also a medical-legal expert witness in Traumatic Brain Injury.My treatment specialties include Facilitating Professional Development, Coping with Physical Illness, and Recovering from Traumatic Brain Injury.I consult with health care professionals about how they interact with their patients.I also consult with mental health therapists about patient care, practice-building, and career development. I am a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and Voluntary Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at University of California San Diego School of Medicine. I have served on the the Executive Committee of the Board of the San Diego Psychoanalytic Center and the Council of the San Diego Psychiatric Society. I have also been selected by my physician peers as a Top Doctor in San Diego.
