Improved category analyst’s response to market changes to 2 days from 6 weeks.• Selected and implemented an Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) system to handle purchase orders, invoices, price changes, and continuous replenishment. As a result of this effort, a reduction of $20 million in inventory and a 40% reduction in clerical staff was realized. • Directed the design, and coordinated a team charged with expanding a retail grocery chain’s business into a call center catalog ordering service. • Managed the design and development of several decision support systems. These systems included an executive information system, a sales analysis and reporting system, and a merchandising system. • Developed a strategy to increase the flexibility of retail pricing options while significantly reducing costs. Directed the development of systems and decentralization of pricing while retaining centralized pricing control.
