Selected within UBS to be one of the founding members to lead a new strategic project to replace our legacy system trade entry tool. This is the core software application used within UBS by traders in the derivatives market, supporting thousands of global representatives to trade and manage several billion dollars in total assets. Was responsible for initial staffing of a global software team, designing the new system, and managing the project implementation and delivery. Initial rollout was on schedule and no down time was experienced during the massive transition.The success of our project resulted in expanding our internal client solutions to additional business streams, such as Rates, Prime Brokerage and Convertible Bonds in Asia/Pacific. The team I assembled and lead created a new software delivery model that resulted in increased efficiency and reduced risk to the company, eliminating software delivery delays and cost overruns. Our product and process was eventually adopted across the enterprise as the strategic trade capture platform.Employed best of breed open source projects to streamline delivery of enhanced feature sets while minimizing maintenance costs, such as Spring Framework and Hibernate. Championed use of industry-standard project management tools, including Atlassian Jira and Confluence to encourage transparent communication. Instituted methodologies from Agile Development and applied continuous integration to ensure software quality. Managed to short-term delivery cycles to ensure client confidence and involvement and to adjust to a rapidly evolving marketplace.

This included a geographically separated Sun Cluster, designed for business continuity of critical processes. Delivered key changes in key infrastructure components, increasing uptime to 99.999% availability. This has led to similar adoptions enterprise-wide.Initiated and maintained vendor relationships, including Sun Microsystems sales and support, as well as outsourcing contracts for on-site help desk.

Responsible for production operations and development support of a leading commodity trading website with average daily volumes in excess of 100 million product updates and 10,000+ concurrent users. Duties included directing a team of administrators to profile, trouble-shoot, update and manage 70+ servers in production, stage, test and development environments.Headed Rational ClearCase administration for operations worldwide. Designed and built website to interface with user community and to facilitate administration. Architected and supported multiple e-commerce applications with a variety of technologies and security countermeasures.

Contract position with Exxon Production Research Company. Head configuration management specialist for multi million-dollar project. Designed a custom development and testing strategy for more than thirty developers. Upgraded entire network to Rational ClearCase 3.x. Wrote suite of scripts to facilitate development process. Integrated various tools with Rational ClearCase including Rose, Objectivity DDL/C/C++, and Discover. Responsible for all UNIX/Windows interoperation issues including cross-platform makefiles and build scripts. Administered heterogeneous LAN with SGI, Solaris and NT 4.0 clients and servers.
