Promotion to Guidance Unit (Medium Range) on June 15th 2015.Supporting the Chief Operational Meteorologist in leading all operational teams, providing direction, guidance and the authoritative voice on the application of meteorology, its causes and impacts, over the medium range period.In January 2018 I also started working on the Global Guidance position, providing guidance and advice about severe and impactful weather for a wide range of UK government and overseas customers.At the beginning of 2020 I joined the team of operational meteorologists responsible for delivery of the Met Office Seasonal Forecast output, which consists of a wide range of products to government and civil contingency planners. This entails close work with the Seasonal to Decadal prediction team and monthly sign off by the Met Office Chief Scientist.In 2022 I was involved in the operationalisation of the Met Office's first "mesoanalyst" team, using new tools and cutting edge knowledge to provide more detailed convective forecasting guidance, and inform National Severe Weather Warnings Service strategy surrounding short notice convective storms.In 2023 I took up the position of UK Deputy Chief Team Leader

Promotion to Senior Operational Meteorologist, working on the World Area Forecast Centre bench.In this role I was responsible for the timely and accurate production of Tropical and Southern Hemispheric datasets, which included forecasts of jets, cumulonimbus clouds, and clear air turbulence. I also monitored tropical cyclone, volcanoes, and other hazards, liaising with colleagues in other teams (including meteorologists from WAFC Washington) when appropriate.
