Achievements: Lead developer for a versatile scripting tool used to automate collection of information from over 15,000 network switching devices of various brands and types. The prototype was written in Visual Basic and MS Access. The production version was written in C++ for UNIX mainframes. It allows rapid development of scripted scans to automate maintenance and data collection on diverse network equipment scattered around the world. It accesses network devices using Telnet, CORBA, TL1, PCS and other proprietary Interfaces and outputs in HTML, XML or plain text. It also uses Oracle OCI to retrieve, manipulate and store data using all of the facilities of Oracle. The web interface uses Java Servlets, JSP and JDBC for data presentation and control.Survived several workforce reductions when MCI/WorldCom filed for bankruptcy which reduced the software development organization by over 80%.
