About Dan Hepworth
If I was a cat, curiosity would've killed me a while ago. I love learning about the world and how things work (and don't work), and for me the best way to do that is by trying stuff out, as well as leveraging the wisdom of others.I'm from Massapequa Park, NY (on Long Island, about an hour from NYC) and recently graduated from Duke a year early with a major in computer science and a minor in finance. I digital nomaded for a year, and now I live in Tulsa, Oklahoma.Entrepreneurship excited me at an early age when I started my first company, The Massapequa Tutor, as a junior in high school. I tried to start a couple other projects in college that flopped, but I learned so much from those experiences. Plus, I would have regretted not trying out those ideas more. During that time, I was mainly an operations and product guy (read: the idea guy). But I realized this was limiting, as I had to rely on finding someone else to make my visions a reality. As a result, I got serious about engineering. In my limited free-time I'm either working out, running, playing chess or Catan, or playing with my new puppy, Meadow. After Duke, I worked as a Software Engineer at AktaryTech for a year, where I helped build exciting blockchain and crypto projects. I went from no-stack to full-stack.I then took a break for a few months to focus on my mental health. Then, I decided to freelance for the past year and a half, where I worked on a variety of backend and smart contract projects in fields such as quantitative trading, decentralized finance, logistics, and cryptocurrency security. After a brief stint at Mastercard, I got back into the startup arena as an engineer at Satflow! Programming languages: Typescript/Javascript (Node, Express, React, Next), Java, Solidity (Hardhat, Foundry,Brownie), Python (FastAPI, Pandas)Databases: PostgreSQL, Firebase, MongoDBDevops/deployment: Linux, Bash/shell scripting, Docker, Kubernetes, Geth (Ethereum node client)Cloud services: Google CloudVersion control: Git, Github, GitlabSpeak with me at calendly.com/handep.Twitter @thedanhepworthGithub is djh58
