Dan is currently the CMO at Icelandic Provisions where he is working with a talented team to design and implement a brand an marketing strategy to drive growth for this awesome brand and portfolio of products. Prior to Icelandic Provisions, Dan was the Vice President of Brand Marketing at Clif Bar where he served as the General Manager and Brand Marketing lead. Dan doubled the size of the CLIF brand. He achieved this success by creating a first-ever brand strategy and architecture as well as a long-term strategic growth plan for the business. Additionally, he developed and launched the brands biggest product line to date with CLIF Nut Butter Filled along with the company’s first “collections” – Sweet & Salty Collection and Coffee Collection. At Visa, Dan served as the Head of Affluent and Commercial Marketing, leading the Affluent (Visa Signature), Small Business, and Commercial Card products. He introduced a new marketing strategy an integrated plan to gain marketing share in the Affluent card space, positively impacting business results. In addition, Dan led consumer social media efforts for the U.S. Marketing during this time. In his last role at PepsiCo, Dan partnered with key restaurant organizations. At McDonalds, he launched a hot oatmeal item that remains on their menu today. For YUM! Brands, he created a first-ever marketing growth strategy for the PepsiCo partnership resulting in a reversal of negative trends in beverage incidence, and the first PepsiCo food items sold through YUM! Brands.Dan had a series of progressive brand marketing roles at PepsiCo in the Gatorade division. He launched Propel Fitness Water nationally and grew it to $200 million in its first two years. Dan next led the Gatorade base business as well as new product launches including most notably Gatorade X-Factor, the largest sub-line in Gatorade’s history at over $250 million and the Gatorade Endurance Formula, the first product of the Gatorade Performance Series. After two years in this role, PepsiCo selected him to inspire Gatorade Advertising initiatives for the Teen, Tween and Hispanic target audiences as well as the entire $150 million media budget. Highly noteworthy, he created Gatorade’s first digital strategy in this role.
