Zombie servers are big wastes in terms of space, energy, license, and maintenance fee- Collected SAR log files from servers using shell script and Chef; parsed and imported logs to MongoDB- Utilized Python and scikit-learn to develop and benchmark different clustering methods (K-Means, DBSCAN, Gaussian Mixture Model) to detect the servers with almost no activities- Experimental results showed that this solution can save up to ~$1.7M annually if deployed to all Data Centers
