The Nevada Mobile Vendors Association is a nonprofit formal membership business league which works for its members to elevate the mobile vending marketplace, inform and educate the mobile vendor customer community, and advocate in matters of legislative and regulatory change for our membership and for the Nevada Mobile Vendor community at large.

Worked with our internal and external development partners as Software Architect on our Inventor products ( Galileo, Edison, Curie), including system power on, system software development, and testing of the Arduino Experience on those products.As Technical Liaison, I had the opportunity to represent our Maker products at* Maker Faire San Mateo, Maker Faire New York, and Maker Faire Rome, during which I described our products and Intel's work in the Maker Community to absolute beginners and seasoned veterans of the Maker Movement.* University Hackathons including Penn Apps, MakeMIT, Hack Holyoke and others where I worked with participants as a Mentor to enable their ideas and help them have a successful experience regardless of their skill levels when they began. Here I also had opportunities to interact with competitors like Atmel and collaborators like Resin.io and learn more about where this industry is meeting the community and the movement.* Commercial hackathons with Amazon, General Electric, and Eastpak, as Mentor to enable more experienced developers with various levels of skill working in the embedded space. * Intel IoT Roadshows as Intel-only events with a small staff of Intel Mentors to enable the realization of creative notions using Intel Hardware.As part of this outreach I have been able to interact with something over 1,000 of Intel's future customers as their journeys into Making and Hacking began or continued, enabling and teaching while at the same time discovering and learning about Hackers and Makers, their wants and needs, and how we can all benefit into the future by enabling each other.One of the highlights of my time at Intel was my participation as a Planner and Mentor of America's Greatest Makers. I worked in the initial production startup assembling tools and process, then worked with and mentored three of the competitor teams from the first day of production until their respective end experiences on the show itself.

Helped to found a 501(c)(6) mobile food vendor advocacy organization in the San Francisco Bay Area, in collaboration with Southern California Mobile Food Vendors' Association and a group of 20 mobile food vendors in the founding members group, up to the seating of its Board of Directors.

B T P Times is a licensed Sunnyvale Business dedicated to hyperlocal content management tools development, aiming to make community media projects easier.

The first piece of a hyperlocal media endeavor in Sunnyvale, CA. Created and produced audio content covering business, government and life in and around the largest small city in the South Bay Area.

Wrote "white box" test code for new platforms for power consumption measurement and other system characterizations as well as stability assessment during development. Major achievement was isolating a flash failure with one of two vendors on the product AVL, preventing shipment of faulty products at launch.

Conceived to counter local business review sites common at the time, to collect more honest, more specific, and more-easily-parsed "micro reviews" into useful and valid reviews with community weightings and heavy use of Bayesian Inference to keep it honest. Didn't get seed funding to get out of stealth mode

After finishing up some work with Philips on a consulting basis, I worked with Leap Frog Enterprises (NYSE:LF) to develop one of their educational toy products (8051-based, as many of their products are), and with Motive Power (defunct) to develop some creative file caching ideas. In Arizona, I have been operating a construction project documentation services company and doing website content development here and there on an ad hoc basis.

Worked on Salon.com online properties, including database design and general "back end" for content management and publishing on the web and beyond.

Home Information Systems attempts to document in as complete and useful a way as possible the results of higher-end custom residential construction and remodel projects. We do this through onsite digital photography, user manual and other relevant document aggregation, and specification collection. The end result is delivered to both the home owner and builder/remodeler on a computer CD-ROM, which can be browsed with any web browser.

Worked in a team of four initial employees to form the Software & Electronics Business Unit within the Flat Display Systems group of Philips Components. Our goal was to bring some of the many technologies available within Philips (mostly in their vast research lab technology portfolio) to market as value-adds to LCD devices. Our aim was to add value though integration. Philips Components eventually closed down or reorganized many of their LCD-related lines of business, eventually moving the product division offices back to Holland from San Jose, California.

UCC was a Mac Clone company that was branching out into PReP/CHRP/PPCP chipset and motherboard development, aimed at creating new systems that could run Mac OS products as well as Windows NT PPC, Solaris for PowerPC, AIX, LinuxPPC, etc. I worked in the firmware group developing OpenFirmware-based firmware from POST through RTAS and on to OS boot for the new chipset and motherboard reference design we were developing. Later, after Apple decided to revoke licensing in a business model change, we moved to developing products around Intel's processor line. UCC was eventually shut down by its parent company, Umax Group, in Taiwan.

Hired into the Core Technologies group to work with security software, and worked on both client-based S/MIME parts for secure email and server-based SecurID token authentication. I had intially joined Netscape with an interest in continuing my efforts in the smart card arena, but smart cards have yet to catch on to this day.

SCM Microsystems was, at the time I joined, a privately held German company with sales offices in Los Gatos, California. Their proximity to Visa in Foster City, California, and their position in the smart card industry were a great match and made for some interesting opportunities. During this time with SCM I learned a great deal about the smart card industry, the technology and standards associated with it, and the market potential. Unfortunately, the latter seemed questionable, which limited the types of technical contributions I could make to the company so far removed from their technology centered in Germany and France.

As a contractor, developed test code for ARM C++ SDK for Apple Newton products, specifically the MessagePad 2000. An extremely interesting and educational mix of C++, the NewtonScript language, and unstable development hardware.

Initially worked as a consulting QA engineer working with TARGA 2000 video capture card on NuBus Macintosh products, moved to driver-level development for TARGA products on Macintosh. Worked with Asian-Pacific Sales in an ad hoc Sales Engineer capacity during business development with a very large international Japanese electronics company, visiting a site in Japan to integrate a demonstration platform as part of the project.

As a contractor, worked as a QA tester and test too developer in various groups on various projects, including the Power Macintosh Upgrade Card, the Blackbird PowerBook laptop (featuring the first capacitive touchpad), System 7.0, the Jedi PowerBook 100 low cost laptop, various PowerMac follow-on projects, etc. Provided broad exposure to how projects are undertaken at a diverse, fast-moving company such as Apple.

First post-graduate employment in Silicon Valley, hired to test accelerated graphics display hardware for NuBus Macintosh Computers, aimed at high-end graphical content creation. Moved eventually to performance benchmarking and analysis with data published to engineering and marketing. Layoffs shortened the runway here significantly.
