Dan began his music industry career at Factory Records/New Order’s Suite 16 studios in Manchester, UK. He relocated to London in 2001 to begin work at Strongroom studios, Shoreditch. Here he joined a team of in-house producer/engineers based at this established music industry hub - working within the studios and liaising and collaborating with the various artists, managers, record labels and video production companies also based there. With its ubiquitous Jamie Reid wall art and fiercely independent attitude, Strongroom evoked something in all who worked there. It was, and still is, a hub of innovation in music. Simultaneously, he studied for a Masters degree in Audio Production. The course led him to explore new creative interests away from pop music; composing abstract art music with sound itself as the material. He gained a distinction, and a deeper interest in experimentation with sound.Over the following years, he developed a strong reputation, establishing an ongoing creative partnership with many musical artists including. He spent months travelling between the UK and Paris, living and working with legendary Bristolian trip hop producer Tricky, on multiple sessions that became his acclaimed 2010 album, Mixed Race.He was nominated as best newcomer in the 2009 MPG (Music Producer Guild) awards for his work with electronic act Delphic, amongst others. https://mpg.org.uk
