About Dan Hyman

Dan started working in Theatre at school and refused to go away until they started paying him for it… albeit that took another six years and a Degree in Drama. He then refused to go away for a further 10 years during which time he was a Theatre sound operator, lighting tech and Company Manager. By the time he finished he had toured with the Welsh National Opera, mixed West End musicals, crawled around the roof of the Sydney Opera House and generally had a good time. Eventually he got (very lucky and got) married and decided he needed a “grown up” job, or at least one that would allow him to see his family during waking hours. For nearly 20 further years he has been using his communication and technical skills in corporate audio-visual production.After coordinating all aspects of AV service and video conferencing infrastructure and making sure as shush that everything started on time, he eventually went to work at Burberry as the IT Events Manager. Aside from tech producing internal comms broadcasts, Townhall streams, AGMs, Shareholder meetings, Showroom product showcases, conferences and generally innovating in the creative technology space, he also contributes on employee panels for Diversity, Wellbeing and Sustainability and is committed to creating the space that facilitates people’s best work. That, after all, is what the best AV, video production, creative multimedia, and teams are all about. The chance to respond to new opportunities, connect people from different disciplines, guide and generate innovation, break down complexities into manageable solutions (play with the expensive toys) and generally get stuff done is where the fun still lies.
