I started my career working as a relay settings engineer for Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority (PREPA) and, after 12 years in the Transmission P&C group, I decided to transfer over to the Distribution Planning group in order to gain experience in another area within the company. About a year later I accepted a job at Duke Energy Florida (aka Progress Energy Florida), where I worked with the Transmission Asset Management and Transmission Compliance departments, and relocated to Florida with my family. After 24 years working in the utility industry, I decided to turn my career path into the consulting business (Leidos), where my vast experience was of great benefit and support for 2.5 years. My career path took another unexpected turn back into utility business, now to Orlando Utilities Commission, where my team supports various groups to ensure compliance with all NERC Reliability Standards applicable to OUC. I am a registered Florida Professional Engineer.Specialties:NERC CompliancePower Transmission and DistributionProtection and Control EngineeringAsset Management Project ManagementManagementTraining
