After the conclusion of my school internship programme, I continued part-time as a guide for the Education, Research and Conservation team, leading tours primarily for school groups.

As an intern for S.E.A. Aquarium's Education, Research, and Conservation (ERC) department, contributed to advancing marine conservation awareness through education and public engagement. I facilitated interactive tours and educational programmes for diverse stakeholders, from local student groups to international V.I.P. guests, providing in-depth knowledge about marine animals, the threats they face, and ongoing conservation efforts.In addition, I developed and implemented educational programmes that aligned with the aquarium’s ERC strategy, ensuring they met organisational goals and priorities. To enhance programme content and visitor engagement, I conducted research on marine life and conservation topics, incorporating the latest scientific findings and fun facts to make learning more enjoyable. I was responsible for educating hundreds of students and the public visitors weekly on marine conservation and sustainability, emphasising the importance of environmental stewardship through these engaging school programmes.I also had the chance to represent the aquarium at major public events and school outreach programmes, visiting pre-schools and speaking to students as part of the "Start Small Dream Big" initiative to encourage young children to use their creativity to give back to society and the environment. I also represented the aquarium at major regional trade shows like the Aquatic and Garden Asia Show 2024, where I engaged with industry professionals, shared insights about the aquarium’s conservation efforts, and promoted our mission of being Singapore's leading centre for marine conservation and education. These opportunities enhanced my communication skills and gave me valuable experience in presenting complex issues to diverse audiences, from young children to industry professionals, while inspiring greater action towards marine conservation.

I served a four-month work attachment with Home Nursing Foundation (HNF) from November to February 2024, where I contributed to supporting and engaging senior residents in the community.My role involved going door-to-door engaging over 150 households, checking on the welfare of vulnerable seniors, distributing care packages, and inviting residents to participate in Home Nursing Foundation's programmes. Additionally, I supported the facilitation of programmes at the centre, assisting participants that needed assistance during elderly exercise activities and working closely with the full-time social workers. These experiences allowed me to develop strong interpersonal and facilitation skills, as I communicated effectively with residents of diverse backgrounds and adapted my approach to meet their needs.

During my time with MudaSG, I organised and managed programmes to promote sustainability and environmental conservation among youths, focusing on fostering greater awareness and active participation. One of my key initiatives involved leading beach clean-up activities to preserve coastal ecosystems while educating participants about the impact of marine pollution. This experience enhanced my ability to engage and inspire young people to take meaningful action for environmental causes.I also spearheaded annual donation drives during the Hari Raya period, collecting second-hand traditional clothing to distribute to low-income residents. In 2022, we successfully collected and redistributed over 1,400 pieces of clothing, promoting responsible consumption and waste reduction during the festive season. This initiative taught me the importance of efficient planning and logistics management to ensure the success of large-scale community efforts.In addition, I liaised with government agencies such as the People’s Association and Southeast CDC to secure financial and venue support for our initiatives, which strengthened my stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills. Managing these community outreach programmes allowed me to raise awareness of various social issues and develop my project management and communication abilities, equipping me with the skills needed to create impactful and sustainable solutions for community challenges.

I served a work attachment with En Community Services Society as part of the "Sponsorship and Volunteer Development" module, where I carried out administrative duties to support the organisation’s operations. I shadowed staff during meetings with corporate stakeholders, learning vital liaison and communication skills while gaining insight into building partnerships to enhance the organisation’s impact.These experiences strengthened my organisational, facilitation, and stakeholder management abilities, which I continue to apply in my community work.
