I worked as one of the sales staff in which I would have reported to my immediate manager, but I was also given the opportunity to work under my own initiative and was left to run the software department for two months without management being present. My role in this position was to aid the other sales staff with the smooth running of the department, which included a variety of duties, ranging from training of staff, completing departmental schedules, performance management, stock management, till result management and the general day to day running of the software department. My roles and responsibilities are down to the trust that has been placed in me.

I was contacted to take up a minimum 4 month contract with Watts to perform numerous surveys for a client representing the DIO. The contracts were phased to suit the client’s needs. I was placed in the North of Scotland for phase 3 of the contract in which survey targets were set and then carried out by myself and another work colleague. - Install pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, appliances such as dishwashers or water heaters, or fixtures such as sinks or toilets, using hand or power tools.- Maintain or repair plumbing by replacing defective washers, replacing or mending broken pipes, or opening clogged drains.- Cut openings in structures to accommodate pipes or pipe fittings, using hand or power tools.- Assemble pipe sections, tubing, or fittings, using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking, soldering, brazing, & welding equipment.- Measure, cut, thread, or bend pipe to required angle, using hand or power tools such as pipe cutters, pipe-threading machines, & pipe-bending machines.- Locate and mark the position of pipe installations, connections, passage holes, or fixtures in structures, using measuring instruments such as rulers or levels.- Fill pipes or plumbing fixtures with water or air and observe pressure gauges to detect and locate leaks.- Anchor steel supports from ceiling joists to hold pipes in place.- Inspect structures to assess material or equipment needs, to establish the sequence of pipe installations, or to plan installation around obstructions such as electrical wiring.- Pipe cutting, pre-assembly and installation of plumbing systems & components.- Install underground storm, sanitary, or water piping systems, extending piping as needed to connect fixtures and plumbing.- Keep records of work assignments.- Estimate time, material, or labor costs for use in project plans.-Calculate costs or savings for water- or energy-efficient appliances or systems.
