In this role, I organize and host various events for the chapter that encourage positive professional development, networking, and a deeper understanding of the field of public relations. This academic year, PRSSA will host a PR agency and news station field trip, industry information sessions, career workshops (LinkedIn, Resume, Interview), guest speaker presentations, bonding activities, and networking mixers. I also plan an assortment of unique fundraisers that help our chapter stand out from other organizations on campus. Including, but not limited to, professional headshot happy hours, percentage days with nearby restaurants, holiday-themed sales, and the sale of chapter-specific merchandise. To fulfill these responsibilities, I communicate with local businesses to develop partnerships for future fundraisers and events. As a member of PRSSA’s Executive Board, I participate in and attend all chapter and board meetings, events, district, and national conferences. In the spring semester, I will collaborate with the rest of the executive board to take part in the 2025 PRSSA National Bateman Case Study Competition.

As a member of this committee, I assist the Vice President of Events and Fundraising in planning events and fundraising opportunities by brainstorming event concepts, finding and contacting speakers, managing expenses, and developing creative marketing and public relations strategies. Apart from the primary responsibilities of my role, I also contribute to the development of the organization by pitching a variety of concepts to the executive board.

In this role, I created graphic designs for event banners using Canva. I then painted all of the banners with the help of my committee. My committee was comprised of approximately 15 women whom I managed. I also communicated with fellow officers to help plan crafts for events, kept stock of art supplies, managed a small budget, created a painting schedule to manage time more efficiently, and attended all marketing and recruitment team meetings.

In this role, I create at least 3-4 Instagram posts per week and 1-2 story posts, analyze social media trends and conduct content analysis, create promotional material and merchandise, recruit new members via social media and answer any DM's, help plan events, organize chapter materials through Google Drive and Microsoft Office, attend all executive board meetings, general meetings, and chapter events, and national conferences.

In this role, I successfully recruited a multitude of new members to join The Women's Network by increasing brand awareness of TWN-UA. I did this by creating marketing and publicity strategies such as creating flyers and putting them up around campus, creating social media promotional materials, direct messaging potential new members about our organization, and participating in and hosting recruitment-based events such as Bash at the Rec and ASUA tabling on campus.

In this role, I assisted clients in a professional and friendly manner by handling inquiries via phone and email and providing information about hospital services, pricing, and pet care while demonstrating a vast knowledge of veterinary medicine. I also managed the appointment schedule by creating appointment notes, obtaining previous medical records and insurance information, making confirmation calls, and upholding the cancellation policy. Most importantly, I learned to handle frequent high-stress situations in a fast-paced environment.

In this role, I cared for dogs, cats, and small animals, I completed training to be able to provide medication to sick animals and work with aggressive animals, I gained vast knowledge in the study of veterinary medicine, I assisted the veterinary technicians and veterinarians, I cleaned the hospital and did laundry, and provided customer service.
