As a Project Engineer in the New Zealand hydro electricity space I provide technical support for the efficient investigation, specification and implementation of solutions that meet the customer's needs.

Working within a multidisciplinary team to ensure that Mercury’s power stations are available to operate at their full potential. Optimisation activities are intended to ensure that stations operate in a manner that maximises their production efficiency while operating safely and within the prescribed limits that allow optimal life cycle value. Opportunities are identified through surveillance and data analysis which then lead into the development and execution of plans to safely increase or optimise overall performance. This includes both day to day advice as well as managing site-based projects to enhance station performance and in some instances be responsible for trouble shooting complex issues and removing bottlenecks to ensure that lost generation is minimised.

To lead, support and guide a team responsible for providing LPG engineering and maintenance expertise. Provide Technical Authority and specialist support to LPG sites and the wider business, whilst developing and implementing lifecycle strategies for acquiring, operating, and maintaining our LPG assets.

To provide a resource for expert advice and support on technical equipment and provide a technical lead for the delivery of projects. This includes: development of work scope, budgeting, contractor & consultant liaison, time management, health & safety management, commissioning and stakeholder management throughout the full project lifecycle. During my time at Genesis Energy I have identified, promoted and assisted with multiple design replacement initiatives, improvements and modifications for existing assets and for integration of new assets. I am required to manage regulatory compliance by submitting reports and engineering studies to regulatory bodies, undertaking statutory inspection and testing, obtaining appropriate documentation and certification for new and existing equipment and maintaining the currency of policies, processes, procedures and standards. And most importantly I contribute to a healthy and safe workplace by having an active involvement in Genesis Energy H&S processes and practices, complying with legislative and company guidelines and requirements, and the auditing of contract staff and their documentation and procedures.
