Working as Game Writer for June's Journey, a story-driven hidden game and the world's most popular in its category. The role includes plotting intricate stories, creating in-depth character backstories, writing concise yet evocative dialogue scenes and taking part in daily writer's rooms and working collaboratively with other talented game writers and designers.

Having acquired a place on the highly competitive and well respected JET Programme, I spent two years working in Japan as an Assistant Language Teacher. Placed in an elementary and junior high school in rural Nagasaki prefecture, my duties were incredibly varied. In elementary school I was the main source of English education and cultural exchange for twenty students aged 6 to 11. I planned fun and engaging lessons in introductory English, as well as teaching the students about cultures and countries beyond Japan, often using multimedia tools. In junior high school, I provided support to the Japanese Teachers of English, which included lesson planning, marking homework, interview activities with the students and in class pronunciation support. Additionally, I worked with kindergarten students, students with behavioural issues and learning difficulties and ran evening classes for adult learners. The role was not limited to the classroom however, and I participated in an array of cultural activities such as a Japanese fashion show, sushi making, climbing Mt. Fuji, language and cultural exchange with community members and a great deal more.

This role saw me communicating with opticians throughout Great Britain and Ireland. I was responsible for taking stock orders. Professional and efficient service, high levels of accuracy and attention to detail were of paramount importance whilst working for Johnson & Johnson.

I produced weekly copy for TopFox, a product of Magnetise Media. My role was to advocate prizes from well known brands to large numbers of email recipients, in turn encouraging them to enter prize draws. The strength of my copy led to significantly increased conversion rates.

This post involved working as a telephone operative for the prestigious audio company Bose. Responsibilities in this role included converting warm calls into sales, researching and advising customers regarding Bose products, professionally addressing problems faced by the customer and administration duties.

Developed customer service skills early on with these part time retail and catering roles. This helped create a strong work ethic and taught me to work successfully both in a team and independently.
