Aircraft Technician – Avionics and ElectronicsPart of a multidisciplinary team to provide electrical and maintenance support services for Aircrew, (Pilots and Navigators), of the GR4 Tornado Squadron; role includes fitting, removal or replacement of component parts; diagnosis of faults using aircraft systems testing; corrective maintenance and system manipulation.Aircraft Technician, Primary Duties:• Install, replace and inspect wiring cable assemblies, connectors and terminations.• Repair wiring and cable looms, using soldering and precision termination tooling up to an Aircraft flight standard.• Maintenance on DC and AC controlled systems up to 415v three-phase.• In-depth fault diagnosis, including analysis of data, on complex avionics systems and replace components.• Operation and theoretical knowledge of communication, navigational, radar and databus controlled systems.• Hazardous fault diagnosis and rectification on weapons systems and flying control systems with hydraulic pressures up to 300bar.• Install and upgrade system software programs.• Functionally check systems before reporting and maintain recording of serviceable for use.• Strictly follow maintenance procedures to adhere to current health and safety procedures and standards.
