My work focuses on empowering researchers, educators, and students to leverage high-performance computing (HPC) and cyberinfrastructure for groundbreaking research and innovative projects.Key aspects of my role include:Advocacy & Outreach: Raising awareness of HPC resources and their applications in various research domains. This involves organizing workshops, seminars, and training sessions to educate the FIU community about available computational tools and techniques.Research Support & Consultation: Providing technical guidance to faculty and students on utilizing HPC resources for their research projects. This includes assisting with computational workflows, optimizing software performance, and troubleshooting technical issues.Collaboration & Networking: Building partnerships and engaging with the broader HPC community to stay updated on the latest advancements and best practices.Resource Management & Allocation: Assist in the efficient allocation and utilization of HPC resources at FIU and the National HPC Network. Training & Mentorship: Developing and delivering training programs to enhance computational skills across the FIU campus. In my role as a PhD Candidate, I am conducting cutting-edge research to decode the complex interplay of host-virus pathways in Aedes aegypti. My research aims to elucidate the mechanisms that underpin viral replication of arboviruses and their potential applications to public health.Key aspects of my role include:- **Virology & Genomics Research**: Spearheading an in-depth study to uncover the mechanisms that regulate the replication of arboviruses. This involves the genomic exploration of wild and lab Aedes aegypti populations.- **Molecular Biology Techniques**: Utilizing a suite of cutting-edge molecular biology techniques, including CRISPR-Cas9, to conduct targeted mutagenesis of proteins. These interventions facilitate a deeper understanding of the regulatory systems and contribute to the broader field of virology.- **Whole Genome Sequencing & Bioinformatics**: Leading efforts in whole-genome sequencing and advanced bioinformatics to identify and understand the genetic modifications involved. This aspect of my work combines wet-lab techniques with computational analyses to interpret biological data, identify patterns and make predictions.- **Collaboration & Knowledge Dissemination**: Regularly presenting research findings at scientific meetings and conferences.
