CTRL-labs merged with Reality Labs.

Promoted in June 2018. Highlights include the following:(1) Led negotiations on a high-stakes contract with a leading, global healthcare company.(2) Handled and negotiated various disputes, including IP, commercial, employment, etc.(3) Guided global product compliance and a robust import/export policy.(4) Managed IP filing, licensing, and enforcement strategy. (5) Directed outside counsel on litigation and miscellaneous matters.

Handled a diverse range of legal and business issues, with a very active role in meetings with key decision-makers to help guide business decisions. Areas of practice include intellectual property law (procurement, enforcement, and transactional), customs law, employment law, commercial law (various agreements such as licenses and joint development agreements), litigation, etc.

Was responsible for litigating and resolving IP issues surrounding various technologies, including software-related patents, business methods, and DNA sequencing. Practice was active in the federal district courts and before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. Took depositions and argued at hearings before federal judges. Also led prosecution of patent applications, worked on various licensing and collaboration agreements, and handled trademark enforcement issues.Engaged in various pro bono work, including counseling senior citizens with the Pennsylvania SeniorLaw Center, and advising clients from the Philadelphia Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts program on copyright-related disputes (including negotiating and finalizing a settlement for a solo artist).

Handled both patent procurement and patent litigation matters across bio/pharm and chemical technology sectors. Was active in discovery processes, including depositions and expert witness preparation. Took advantage of the various in-house training programs that Finnegan offered for its younger attorneys. Also handled a diverse range of pro bono cases on veterans' affairs and family law disputes, including getting relief from the DC Department of Mental Health for a client after a hearing at the hospital.

Worked for the late Chief Judge Paul Luckern while in law school, and attended hearings and drafted orders/opinions for Section 337 intellectual property infringement investigations. Gained considerable experience in global IP matters and U.S. trade practices.

Engaged inventors and drafted patent applications, and performed freedom to operate analyses for inventions in the medical and telecommunication fields. Approached claim drafting creatively to help inventors realize the full scope of their inventions.

Performed HHMI-sponsored research as a HHMI Scholar at the University of Delaware, which implicated neurodegenerative disease, and presented results at the culminating university symposium.
