10 days after graduating High School, I found myself at Marine Corp Boot Camp. Here I would spend the next 12 years of my life gaining experiences while serving as an Infantry Squad Leader and an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Team Leader before being medically retired in 2014.The highlight of my career was between the years of 2007 to 2014, when I served as an EOD Team Leader. During this time, the military found itself fighting an unconventional competitor using a new product and service, the improvised explosive device (IED). To counter this new threat, the military would have to purchase new equipment, design new training methods, and rewrite doctrine on preparing for and conducting operations in combat zones.
