As well as studying and adoring film I spent 16 years working within the emergency services for both Police and Ambulance. I have witnessed the best and worst of humanity. I feel that now, as a filmmaker, those former experiences have helped give my work ‘heart’ and shaped my style into what it is today - both candid and creative. I love exploring contradictions in life… how something small and delicate can be strong and mighty and how something stereotypical can be its exact opposite. Me for example… 6ft 9… bearded and tattooed. I perhaps would have been better suited to the life of a gangster, but instead I dedicated a big part of my life to helping others. My experiences as a videographer thus far, have been challenging and empowering. I have been involved in several film projects, from short films to feature-length productions. The process of filmmaking requires a lot of planning, preparation, and hard work.During pre-production, I collaborate with writers, producers, and other members of the creative team to develop the concept and write the script. I then scout locations, cast actors, and create storyboards to plan out the shots we need to capture.In production, I work closely with the cast and crew to bring the script to life. We set up lighting, sound, and camera equipment and capture each shot, sometimes doing multiple takes until we get it just right. It can be a long and tiring process, but it's also exhilarating to see the story taking shape.In post-production, I edit the footage, add special effects, and create the final product. This can be lengthy, as I need to refine each scene to make sure it flows seamlessly and tells the story effectively.Overall, filmmaking is an incredibly rewarding thing to do. Seeing the result on the big screen and hearing audiences react to it, is an emotive experience like no other. It's a reminder of the power of storytelling and the impact that film can have on people's lives.
