Daniel Addison has practiced law and public policy for over 30 years. He has significant Fortune 50 C- Suite management experience and as an Equity Partner in a National leading law firm. Addison served as CITGO Petroleum Corporation's General Counsel – a company with over $20 billion in revenues. He was responsible for all legal issues (including transactional, governance, regulatory and litigation). Addison managed all in-house and external counsel (including controlling legal costs). He personally handled CITGO’s billion-dollar refinancing efforts, and litigations involving the Athos and Lake Charles’s oil spills. Addison was a voting member on the Compliance, Risk Management, Operations and Disclosure committees. Prior to joining CITGO, Addison was an Equity Partner at Patton Boggs LLP (now Squire Patton Boggs LLP) a full-service American Law 100 firm consistently recognized as the premiere public policy firms in the United States. For over twenty years, he provided strategic guidance on numerous complex legal issues to major corporations and countries including Lockheed Martin, General Electric, Nucor Steel, AIG, the African Development Bank and Venezuela. Addison divided his time between practicing traditional law and public policy (lobbying). Patton Boggs perfected the notion that law and policy are not separate things -- policy must comprehend the law and vice versa. Having been appointed by the President of the United States, Addison served in two Executive Branch Administrations including appointments at the General Services Administration (GSA), where he led the Agencies’ legislative efforts; and at the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) where he prosecuted Natural Resource Damages (NRD) actions (oil and chemical spill cases). Addison served as: California's Recycling Chief at the California Department of Conservation; US Senate staff; and staff at the Republican National Committee (concentrating on diversity issues with an emphasis on African Americans).
