Dr. Allasia earned his Bachelor in Hydraulic Engineering from UNNE, Argentina, in 2000. He then went on to earn his MSc. in Civil Engineering and a PhD in Water Resources and Sanitation, both from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil (2003, 2003, and 2008). He is a Professor of the Federal University of Santa Maria, Brazil since 2009. In the last five years, Dr. Allasia has published 5 book chapters, 65 papers in proceedings, 31 in refereed journals, and secured one patent. He has served as a Major professor, advising 13 Master students, 2 PhD students, and almost 70 undergraduate students. He has been awarded as Outstanding Reviewer (2018) and Best Case Study (2013) of the Journal of Hydrologic Engineering in 2013 of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).
