I produce videos with a focus on company stories. My interest in video production began due to a class I took in high school and I've been producing videos ever since. Even while I held a 9-to-5 I would always work on videos to develop my skills. Ultimately, the company I was working for - Harbor America - ended up expanding their marketing department and offered me a position to create internal and external content. This included video documenting internal events such as speakers (motivational, 401k presentations, etc.) to employee profiles. External video included promotional material such as spotlighting event sponsorships and client testimonials.In addition to Harbor America, I was also producing videos for small businesses, which provided them with an effective branding tool. These videos were able to tell a story that showcased the personality of business owners as well as the origin and evolution of their business.When Harbor America was acquired, I was laid-off and moved on to legal videography. While this lacks the creativity I had before, recording legal depositions has been a fascinating experience. Lawyers at depositions have taught me the importance of telling a story, which is what they do as they question a deponent about a certain matter. They first obtain background information and then get to the heart of the matter as attempt to paint a picture of the issue at hand. This is simplifying what they do, of course, but these information-gathering sessions usually contain a logical progression since part of these proceedings could be shown to a jury. And a lawyer's job in court is to paint the most believable story to the jury.Besides producing documentary-type branding videos for small businesses, I have also shot several feature-length documentaries - or video biographies - as they're sometimes called. These are basically life stories for those who want to tell their story through a high-quality documentary. My clients have had rapturous reactions upon screening their documentaries as they were simultaneously entertained and moved by the experience.I love the process of storytelling whether it involves a business branding video or a documentary.
