Bluegarden was acquired by Visma but work continues with the same product as before.I've moved more and more from fullstack into a frontend developer, with React as the main technology.For the past years, I've been the only fulltime senior frontend developer for the product and has a lot of responsibility in deciding which technology to use and how to implement it. I am in charge of lots of legacy applications built in a variety of technologies, but also create or rebuild applications in MVC 4 with WCF and SQL Server.

I was hired to work with the intranet at IKEA in 1998. At that time there were no central organization to do this and each department handled it by them-self. I worked halftime with the HR website and halftime with the one at IT. Then an in-house CMS was built in classic ASP and I started working with that. I also built web applications in classic ASP for the HR department as well as various other departments. In 2001 I became the responsible person as well as the only developer for the CMS. Together with a designer I supported the whole IKEA with that tool and upgraded it to a new version. Another developer joined the team and together we standardized and developed various web applications within IKEA. We mainly worked in classic ASP, but also some in Java.In 2006, I was part of an upgrade of the CMS to ASP .Net together with another developer and a consultant. We had full support of the tool as well as many other web applications. Some of them we upgraded to ASP .Net as well.In 2009 the CMS was being replaced with MOSS, but some of the functionality could not be transferred. Together with the other developer and three consultants I built a completely new platform in ASP .Net 3.5. During 2009 and early 2010 we upgraded all our applications to ASP .Net 3.5 and added them to our new platform. In late 2010 we upgraded the platform to ASP .Net 4.0 with an administration tool in Silverlight.I had to take different roles since I’ve been working alone or in a small team all my years at IKEA. I have been involved in all parts of the development process, from analyzing and designing, to developing and supporting. I have worked with the requirements and with the end-user support. In some applications I did all the work, both in the front-end with the GUI and in the back-end with the database and server-side code. A lot of the work has been to standardize applications and build general tools that the end-users can use to for example build web surveys or photo albums.
