In March 2016, I was appointed by JHI Retail as a Portfolio Manager, overseeing their retail clients in the Eastern Cape. During my time at JHI Retail, I managed a portfolio of approximately 183 tenant spread across approximately 70 000 sqrm of retail space. The portfolio was spread across 5 cities in the Eastern Cape.During my employment at JHI, I managed a team of 9 staff members.In addition to my property management responsibilities, I was also responsible for the growth of my business unit, which included budgeting, expense management and staff management. Often this also involved functions such as internal auditing and IT support.

In June 2014, I joined JH Group as the Group Property Manager, at first I was responsible for the day to day management of the groups various properties. These functions included, rental collection, lease negotiation, negotiating of service level agreements with suppliers and overseeing the general financial performance of the various properties the group owned.Later in 2014, I was involved in the planning process of two rural retail center's and the expansion of an existing Hotel owned by the group. During this time I was responsible for the leasing of the retail centers to be built. The centers were built and opened in 2015. During 2015 I was also involved with the groups development of a AAA grade office development which included tenants such as Investec, UTI and Sasfin.

After a short sabbatical, working in a Retail Business, I was given the opportunity to move into the growth and acquisitions side of True Group. During this time I preformed the role of a property analyst. It was my responsibility to analyses a number the potential new acquisitions. This involved the preparation and presentation of various financial models and market surveys. I also worked closely with the various Heads of Department to prepare heads of agreements, offers to purchase and structured transactions. I was also involved with various due diligence investigations.

I first joined True Group in November 2007 as an assistant portfolio manager. I was involved with the day to day running of the various student accommodations True Group owned. Later I was prompted to the position of Portfolio Manager, which entailed the management of various Commercial office buildings, industrial warehouses and student accommodation. During this time I was also involved in the redevelopment of a number of buildings, previously used as residential accommodation, for the use of student accommodation. In addition to the normal day to day responsibilities, my duties included: Financial Analyses of Assets Performance, Reporting on Asset Performance, Optimizing returns achieve by Assets, Managing of expenses incurred in maintenance of Assets, Negotiations of Lease Agreements with Tenants, Negotiations of Service level agreements with Suppliers.

Correspondence Clerk:When I first joined CW van Huyssteen, I worked in the correspondence department, drafting responses to Creditor queries. Given my background in programming, I was able to develop a bulk query mail merge, allowing me to respond to a large amount of queries in a relatively short space of time. This allowed me to work through an extensive backlog.As a result of my success in the correspondence department I was asked to assist with the development of more data based analysis and query handling system. It was during this time that I dealt with a number of larger the Banks, Retailers and Micro lenders.
